(My granddaughter, Alex, who loves to research and write about what she has learned, also decided to take a look at vultures. The things you can learn from a 9-year-old! Thought I would share what she wrote on my blog. And that will lead into my “part two” post about vultures.)

Vultures!
Vultures are big birds. Vultures like to feed on dead meat.
They are carnivores.
You probably know that because carnivores eat meat.
And what do vultures eat? Dead meat!!!
New World vultures are found in North and South America;
Old World vultures are found in Europe, Africa and Asia.
The female black vulture can lay 1-3 eggs at a time.

Alex, I am your Grandma and Grandpa Phillips friend. I loved your story. You have done excellent research on vultures. Have you thought about writing a book (or even your own Blog) about all the animals you are interested in. Maybe you could include why they appeal to you.

P.S. I met you when you were a baby but you were to little to remember.

I was equally excited to see her write about vultures. Hopefully, more to come from her bright mind.
